Dactylioceras athleticum
Lower Jurassic, Upper Lias, Bifrons zone
Whitbyt, UK
This is a well cleaned example of D.athleticum in a complete nodule Most specimens are based open on the beaches leaving the Ammonite on a shard of matrix. This example has been prepared within the complete nodule which takes much more time. A very aesthetic and heavy piece.
The matrix measures 17cm in height and the Ammonite is 8.4cm
